What to expect

The session begins with a short intake conversation to collect medical history information and determine goals for the session. I will then exit the room while you disrobe to your comfort level. You will be draped with a sheet and blanket for the entire session, with only the area being worked on uncovered. Your questions are always welcome, and feedback during and after the session is invaluable.

Privacy and draping

You may completely undress, or wear as much clothing as you are comfortable with. You will be fully draped by a sheet and blanket. Privacy is of utmost importance, and you will have complete privacy in the massage room to comfortably prepare for your session.

Cancellation, Illness, Lateness

If you need to reschedule your session, please give at least 24 hours notice. If you need to cancel your appointment with less than 24 hours notice, you may be charged the full session fee. If you are feeling ill, please call so we can discuss your condition and determine whether it's appropriate for you to receive a massage. If you're running late, please give me a courtesy text. If you arrive late, full payment will be expected despite a shortened session time.

Environment

I provide strictly therapeutic massage therapy. My intention is to cultivate a safe, comfortable, relaxing environment for your session, and I expect the same respect from my clients.

Hygiene

With consideration of the close nature of massage, you can expect your therapist to be clean and free of odor or strong perfume. I ask that you do the same. I use a freshly laundered set of table sheets at each session. If you have any allergies to oils or lotions, please let me know ahead of time so that I can prepare to meet your needs.

Safety

Some medical conditions and/or medications may interfere with the effectiveness of massage therapy or may mean massage therapy is contraindicated (meaning that it is not advised you receive massage therapy.) At your intake, I will review information provided on your intake form regarding conditions and medications. However, I welcome having this conversation when you schedule the appointment, particularly if there are any conditions or medications you'd like me to be aware of.

Confidentiality

When you enter my office, you are entering a therapeutic relationship with me. Your confidentiality is priority number one. Anything communicated verbally or in writing within this relationship will remain private and protected.

Transparency

Massage therapy is very personal, and it's priority to me that you feel safe and comfortable. I'm always happy to discuss your questions or concerns.

I show up here and do my magic. If what I do isn't for you, I'm happy to discuss what you're looking for and try to recommend another therapist that might meet your needs. And, if you change your mind, I'm glad to welcome you back. Healing is not linear, and we are all doing our best!
